TEPs can be developed around the development of skills (e.g. photography, citizen journalism, foreign languages), contemporary issues (e.g. the environment, activism, migration) or subject-specific curricula (e.g. artificial intelligence, child development, immigration law) to view the course content from different perspectives adding an international and intercultural dimension. TEPs are designed to engage young people in sustained interaction with peers across the Mediterranean and to foster the development of participants\u2019 language and communication skills, digital literacies, team-working and problem-solving skills in addition to enriching their understanding of course content.<\/div>\n<p><!--nextpage READ MORE--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Type of partners sought<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>University educators from any discipline interested in developing TEPs on specific themes. The Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange Training Team will then get in touch with you to see if you qualify for Advanced+ Training.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h1>Get Your University Involved<\/h1>\n<h2>Click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unicollaboration.webhosting.rug.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Universities-get-involved-2.pdf\">here<\/a> to download a .pdf with information on how to get your university involved.<\/h2>\n<h2>Training to Develop a Virtual Exchange Project<\/h2>\n<p>Embedding Virtual Exchange components into existing courses is one way to enrich existing programmes and promote internationalisation at home. In order to prepare educators to design and implement a\u00a0Transnational \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/youth\/erasmusvirtual\/activity\/training-develop-virtual-exchange-projects_en\">Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange Projects<\/a>\u00a0(TEPs) together with a\u00a0partner educator in another country, Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange is offering training\u00a0that provides participants with the knowledge, experience and tools needed to successfully\u00a0embed Virtual Exchange into existing courses.<\/p>\n<p>The training courses run in a semester prior to the one in which you plan to implement a TEP. In order to participate, professors must complete a brief proposal by the deadline (see previous pages). More information can be found on this website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Suggestions<\/strong>: Those that may be helpful in disseminating this information could be University Centres for Professional Development, directors of joint Master\u2019s programmes, University Language Centres, International Offices, Heads of Departments, etc.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Online Facilitated Dialogue<\/h2>\n<p>Express your institution\u2019s interest in having students enrol for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/youth\/erasmusvirtual\/activity\/connect-programme_en\">Online Facilitated Dialogues<\/a>\u00a0that will take place in autumn 2018. Space is limited.<\/p>\n<p>Your institution should identify interested professors who can integrate the Connect Program into an existing course as a required\/graded part of your course by substituting an assignment. They should fill out this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/youth\/erasmusvirtual\/expression-interest-online-facilitated-dialogue_en\">form\u00a0for expressions of interest<\/a> and staff will come back to them. The professors will then have their students enrol and ensure incentives for their participation, while <a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/www.soliya.net\/programs\/connect-program\">Soliya<\/a> will provide the platform, registration facility, the facilitators, the curriculum, reporting and evaluations. Alternatively, a stand-alone course can be created around a Connect Program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Suggestions<\/strong>: The International Office, University Language Centre, Student Support\/Inclusion offices may be good starting points for identifying interested staff and students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Interactive Open Online Course on Nationalism and Diversity<\/h2>\n<p>This online course\u00a0will start in October 2018, aiming\u00a0to engage students from Europe and the Southern Mediterranean to\u00a0consider the perspectives of newcomers in Europe and those that are moving towards a more nationalistic and anti-European sentiment.\u00a0This\u00a0Interactive Open Online Course\u00a0will be composed of three elements: video lectures by experts; facilitated online seminars where students from a wide range of national and cultural backgrounds discuss their views, experiences and ideas; and an outreach assignment where they learn more about sentiments in their own communities.<\/p>\n<p>The programme takes 10 weeks. If you are interested in offering this programme to your students, please email:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:sophie@sharingperspectivesfoundation.com\">sophie@sharingperspectivesfoundation.com<\/a>\u00a0before May 18 2018.<\/p>\n<h2>Recognition<\/h2>\n<p>Students and professors completing the different Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange activities will be awarded Open Badges and\/or Certificates.<\/p>\n<h2>Internships<\/h2>\n<p>Facilitation training can be offered as opportunities for virtual internships, as indeed several of our university partners have done. All Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange activities will include small group discussions facilitated by young people trained as Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange facilitators. Facilitators are multi-partial and neutral process leaders.\u00a0 They seek to elicit self-group awareness and understanding by providing a safe and effective learning environment. Facilitators aim to arm participants with tools to hold an effective cross-cultural dialogue where participants learn about one another and themselves and are inspired to take this understanding beyond their participation in the project and into their communities.
