UNICollaboration has four Special Interest Groups, which organise events, special journal issues or other community-building activities related to specific topics in VE / COIL and telecollaboration.
You do not need to be a member of UNICollaboration to join any of its SIGs.

European VE/COIL Hub – this aimed at facilitating networking, fostering partnerships and building capacity through VE/COIL initiatives within Europe and with non-European networks. Those interested in joining can sign up for the SIG listserve (EU VE Hub) by emailing Sara Pittarello (sara.pittarello@unicollaboration.org).
The Graduate Student SIG – this is UNICollaboration’s first SIG and brings together graduate students and others who carry out research on Virtual Exchange. The SIG is chaired by Hiba Ibrahim (hibaib87@yorku.ca). Those interested in joining can sign up for the SIG listserv (UNIColl Grad SIG) by emailing the chair.
Primary and Secondary Teacher SIG – this SIG is for Virtual Exchange practitioners at the primary and secondary level and others who are interested in Virtual Exchange for school-aged populations. This SIG is also home to the teachers who took part in VALIANT’s Virtual Innovation and Support Network Virtual Exchanges (2021-2024). Teacher Professional Development SIG – Virtual Exchange has been successfully carried out among different populations of student teachers and practicing teachers. This SIG is for those involved in teacher professional development.
